Using Social Security in a Last Ditch Effort

Mitch McConnell, Republican Senator out of Kentucky, has used Social Security as a touchstone to give him a last push toward winning his state, and I’m the process, becoming majority leader of the U.S. Senate.  With a slight lead in the polls, McConnell has drawn a line, stating “I don’t know anybody in favor of privatizing Social Security and I never heard anybody even suggest it, certainly not myself,”. This was in response to attack ads last week that questioned his stance on privatization during the Bush years, as well as how he maya have used insider connections to salvage his portfolio during the stock market downturn of 2008. With hours left until Election Day, most Republicans have ceased any discussion of Social Security except to say that they want to keep it going.
